Marcello Carlin on Marvin Gaye's What's Going On. An album I must say I never got when I first heard it many years ago, though lately I've been thinking I should try it again, since I never used to be into soul music that much; I've found myself being more responsive to it in recent years, though, so I should probably give What's Going On another go. It's a convincing essay, to be sure.
