Downer ridicules suicide bomber scare.

Foreign Minister Alexander Downer today played down fears Iraq could unleash a wave of suicide bombers if the war continued to go against Baghdad.
The Iraqi regime has threatened that hundreds of suicide bombings would be carried out by supporters from across the Middle East.
But Mr Downer said the claims were exaggerated.
"I think that's absolute nonsense that there will be large numbers of suicide bombers," he told Sky News Australia.
"That's just nonsense and the Iraqis haven't got thousands of people lining up to be suicide bombers, hardly surprisingly."

Wonder how Alex knows that. Did the same UN report saying they couldn't find WMDs also say they couldn't find suicide bombers either? Anyway, I'll bet if you'd asked them before they died, Paul Moran and those American boys at the checkpoint at Najaf would also have said they didn't think Iraq would use suicide bombers...
