Keeping up with Otis Fodder's 365 Days Project? If not, at least check this one out. It's a calypso song from 1954 about a sex change operation written and sung by... Louis Farrakhan. No, I didn't know either until I visited the page that prior to taking up with the Nation of Islam, the bigot formerly known as Louis Eugene Walcott spent a year working as a calypso singer known as "The Charmer", making compilation appearances as well as an album of his own. Download it and listen for yourself. Methinks it would seem like an odd song anyway, but knowing who's responsible for it gives it an additional edge.
